النحل
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ 43 بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالزُّبُرِ ۗ وَأَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ 44 أَفَأَمِنَ الَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ اللَّهُ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ 45 أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ 46 أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ 47 أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ يَتَفَيَّأُ ظِلَالُهُ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَالشَّمَائِلِ سُجَّدًا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمْ دَاخِرُونَ 48 وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مِن دَابَّةٍ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ 49 يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ۩ 50 ۞ وَقَالَ اللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا إِلَٰهَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ ۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ 51 وَلَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ الدِّينُ وَاصِبًا ۚ أَفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ 52 وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ 53 ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ 54
ASK THEN; IF YOU DON'T KNOW (VERSE NO. 43 - 44)
It seemed very strange to the pagan Arabs, that a man like themselves who ate, drank, and walked in the streets, should come and say:ِ ``I am the Messenger of God, and have brought to you His Message and Book; and that, Allah communicates his orders to me through inspiration!''
This was because almost all of them were illiterates and ignorant of letters and books.
Here the verses imply that they could have asked the Jews and christians about the prophethood and divine Books. Many other men like mohammad had the same faculty of receiving ins piration, and were sent to their people with evidence, miracles, reasons, and scriptures from before. Among these prophets some were indeed very famous and of a high reputation like abraham, israel, moses and jesus. and now there was the advent of mohammad who was the last of the abpostles and the seal of prophets and prohgethood, introducing to mankind an everlasting lav and religion, caled Islam.
WHO ARE THE AHL - AL - ZIKR?
The Arabic, ``ZIKR'' which is usually translated to, mention remembering, memory, recital, or invocation of God, has a wide variety of meanings. It also means having a great deal of information in various fields of knowledge.
Many of the commentators have understood, ``AHL-AL-ZIKR'' to be the elders and the learned. Some commentators have taken it to be the doctors of the Bible and the Gospel, or those who are well verses in the Scriptures.
On this basis those who are well versed in Qurän; they too are the, ``AHL-AL-ZIKR''; and the best and greatest among them are Mohammad himself, his daughter Fatima, Imam Ali his soul and self, and his two grand sons, Imam Hasan and Imam Husain (AS).
