The early Godly warriors, when due to their mistakes or weak points, were afflicted by some failure or misfortune; when depressed in spirit or courage, instead of wavering or thinking of recantation, they sought refuge to God, and prayed sincerely for His Forgiveness saying: ``Our Lord! Forgive us ours sins, and our excesses in our affairs and make firm our steps, and give us victory over the infidels.''
