QURAN IS SURELY THE WORD OF GOD
VERSES NO. 38-43
``I swear by whatever you see, and whatever you do not see, that QurÌn is the word of a Gentle Messenger of God; and not the word of a poet, not that of a soothsayer, as you Pagans accuse!''
The above verse has a very extensive range of meaning which includes all the visible and invisible things in the universe. It may also imply the Creator, and all His creations in this material world and in the Hereafter-the world of angels, Jinns and spirits.
We know that what Man does not see, is infinitely more than what he may see them! For instance, there are many colours in the Radio Wave Spectrum, under infra-red and over ultra violet, that Man cannot see with his unaided eyes, and yet other creatures such as the BEE, can see it!
There are an immense variety of microscopic or thelescopic creatures; animate or inanimate, that Man cannot see them with his unaided eyes.
We may understand the above swears in other way too:- God has sworn by what the pagan Arabs who were contemporary to our prophet could see, such as the prophet's miracle, and what they could not see, like God's promises of later victories of Islam; and QurÌn's and prophets forecasts and foretellings, and amazing prophecies of the future happenings or conditions. All of these are clear signs that Mohammad (SA) was neither a poet, nor a soothsayer, and he was nothing except a truthful, gentle and dearly favoured Messenger of God.
Therefore, in the above verse, ``What you see and what you do not see'' are not merely the objects of God's oath, but they are the very reason too, for the truth of the swears.
On the other hand, a soothsayer merely pretends to foretell the future events, and almost all of his anticipations prove to be false; although he speaks ambiguously; but the gentle and honourable Messenger of God is truthful in all his prophecies for relying upon God's inspiration.
