In the aforementioned verse, reference was made to some lawful bounties of God, and here some of the restricted things are stated in four categories:

      1) Indecencies which are shameful acts, not becoming, like indecent exposure. In other word; it is anything which is morally offensive and unfit to be seen or heard.

      2) The second forbidden here is committing sin, which is violating the Divine Law by actual transgression, or by neglect. (more about sin will be followed by the translator)

      3) Polytheism, and erecting fetishes and false gods which is treason against the true God.

      4) And finally, forbidden is, saying things about Allah without a true and certain knowledge, or a real convincing reason or correct religious assertion and evidence.

THE DEADLY SINS

      (SIN may be defined as an action, or mission, or state, which destroys, contravenes, or impedes man's relation to God, as the highest good, and final goal of human life. SIN is therefore not primarily an offense against mankind, nor mere breach of established conventions, but a rebellion in some form against the will of God.

      Jewish and Christian traditions, find the first sin the disobedience of Adam, the effects of which pass by way of generation to his descendants.

      The serious sins that result in damnation, and are fatal to spiritual progress, are numbered up to seven by the Christians, and are named as Deadly Sins or Mortal and they are: 1) PRIDE. 2) COVETOUSNESS. 3) LUST. 4) ANGER. 5) GLUTTONY. 6) ENVY. 7) SLOTH.

      But from Islam's point of view, the following are some of the capital and Deadly Sins:

      1) POLYTHEISM. 2) COMMITING MURDER WITHOUT ANY RIGHT. 3) BEING CURSED BY PARENTS. 4) CALUMNY. 5) BACKBITING. 6) ADULTERY. 7) PEDERASTY. 8) COMMITTING THEFT. 9) DRINKING INTOXICANT AND ALCOHOLIC DRINKS.

      Generally, any sin that QURطN has promised Hell for it is considered as capital or Deadly sin in Islam, and the rest of sins we may consider as VENIAL SINS.   TRANSLATOR'S NOTE)
